Mapbox connection & settings ⌄

This version uses OpenFreeMap for basemap display, Photon for button-triggered destination search, and a public OSRM router by default. Keyless public services have usage limits, no guaranteed uptime and no live traffic. Add your Mapbox public token (pk.…) to enable Mapbox search and traffic-aware routing where coverage exists.

Mapbox public token Enable optional recurring traffic updates (off by default; up to two paid Mapbox Directions API requests every three minutes during foreground GPS guidance). Only activate after confirming your licence and billing permissions.

Never paste a Mapbox secret sk. token. Public tokens are visible to the browser; restrict their allowed URLs in Mapbox. This setting is stored only in your browser.

Get a token: Mapbox Access Tokens → Create a public pk. token → restrict allowed URLs to https://pimai-pimai.pages.dev → paste it above → Save. Check Mapbox billing and request limits before use. Traffic coverage is not guaranteed in every area.

Map & navigation information

Map provider status

Address search: Mapbox when connected; otherwise Photon public location search, based on OpenStreetMap. Map taps use reverse geocoding when available. Results may be approximate.

Traffic: Traffic-aware ETA and 3-minute checks are available only after a licensed traffic provider is connected. PiMai2 compares a fresh best route against a fresh estimate constrained to the existing road corridor before automatically switching. Each comparison can require two API calls. No provider means no live traffic or automatic congestion-based route changes.

Vehicle limitations: Current general-road driving routes are not verified for trucks, buses, height/weight limits or motorcycle-specific restrictions. Cycling requires a cycling-capable routing provider. Obey all posted signs.

Privacy: Route and address requests send location coordinates to the selected external provider. The public Photon and OSRM services are for limited evaluation, not guaranteed production operation.

Voice: Spoken languages depend on voices available on your device. Neural voices would require a separate, securely configured service.
